Three rungs, one conversation.

Most health apps give you a chatbot or a stranger on video. Dr.life gives you a thread that can climb: software that reads your record, a licensed Life Medical clinician who joins it, and a clinician who comes to the door when that is what the situation needs.

01. Ask

You type a question the way you would say it out loud. Dr.life asks follow-up questions, reads your full history and chart, and answers from your actual labs, medications and vitals, not a search engine's idea of an average person. This part is the AI, so it does not diagnose or prescribe. The moment your question needs either, it brings in someone who does.

02. Escalate

When the answer needs clinical judgement, a licensed Life Medical clinician joins the same thread, by chat or by video. They arrive already caught up: they have your record and everything you have written. Assessment, diagnosis and treatment are always theirs.

03. Dispatch

Some things cannot be handled through a screen. A wound that needs dressing, bloodwork, an X-ray, a parent who cannot get to the car. A Life clinician comes to the home, and what they find goes back into the same record.

Everything lands in one record

The 11pm question, the video visit, the home visit and the lab result sit in one place, in order. Nobody has to be told the story from the beginning again.

Where the AI stops, and your doctor picks it up

The AI does not diagnose, prescribe or decide on treatment. It never has to. A licensed Life Medical clinician is one message away in the same thread, and they can do everything a doctor can do, because that is what they are.

Nothing here is missing from the product. The second list is simply the part a person does, and that person is already in your thread.

The AI, on its own

  • Answers from your own chart, labs, medications and vitals
  • Explains general health information, grounded in verified published studies, when no medical decision is involved
  • Asks the follow-up questions a clinician would ask
  • Asks for a photo when it would help
  • Flags when something should be looked at today
  • Brings in a licensed Life clinician

It never diagnoses, prescribes or decides treatment on its own.

Your Life doctor, in the same thread

  • Diagnoses
  • Prescribes and adjusts medication
  • Orders labs and imaging
  • Treats, refers and follows up
  • Sends a clinician to your home when it needs hands

Everything a doctor can do, because they are one.

How an answer is put together

Dr.life does not ask one model one question and pass the reply along. Clinically material questions go to more than one leading model independently, and the answers are compared before anything reaches you.

Agreement is a confidence signal. Disagreement is not smoothed over into a plausible answer: it goes to a clinician instead.

Asked of several leading models Each question routed to the models that do that kind of reasoning best ClaudeGeminiGPT
Compared before it reaches you Where they agree, you get a plain answer. Where they diverge, a licensed Life clinician steps in.

Telehealth made the doctor interchangeable. That is the part we don't copy.

On other platforms you draw a stranger who has four minutes to skim a chart. Nobody prefers it. It is why telehealth is used for refills and pink eye and almost nothing that matters.

A Dr.life patient is matched to a provider and stays with them. That provider is who answers in the chat and who appears on the televisit, and the same relationship runs across all four ways of being seen.

Your provider will not always be free, and we will not pretend otherwise. We show you the tradeoff and let you decide. When you need someone now, we route to a clinician who has seen you before, preferring the familiar without promising it.

Dr.life Dr. Yap is your primary. She has a televisit open at 3:00 today. Someone else on your care team can see you within the hour. Which would you rather?

Continuity by default. Coverage without amnesia.

A thread, end to end

A question at 11pm, from the first message to a clinician on video. Nothing here is a screenshot: it is how the conversation is designed to run.

Dr.life Dad
My dad's ankle is swollen and he's on a blood thinner. What should we do?
Dr.lifeHow long has it been swollen, and is it one ankle or both?
Since yesterday. Just the right one.
Dr.lifeCan you send a photo of both ankles side by side so I can compare them?
Photo, both ankles
Dr.lifeThank you. Does it hurt when he stands on it, and is the calf sore or tight above the ankle?
Yes to both. He said the calf feels tight.

Dr.life triages against their record

Dr.life Dad
Dr.lifeAny recent travel, surgery, or long stretches of sitting in the last couple of weeks?
He drove down from Boston on Sunday, about 5 hours.
Dr.lifeHe's on apixaban, and a clot can still form while he's on it, so being anticoagulated doesn't rule this out. One-sided swelling with calf tightness after a long drive should be evaluated today rather than watched. I'm bringing in a clinician now.
Dr. Miller joined the conversation
Dr. MillerI've read through the thread and looked at the photos. Can I start a video call now so I can do a full assessment?
Yes, please.

Questions people ask us

Is a real doctor actually involved?
Yes. Every clinical assessment, diagnosis and treatment decision comes from a licensed Life Medical clinician. Dr.life answers questions and prepares the thread. It does not practice medicine.
Where does the app get my chart, labs and medications?
From your Life Medical record, plus anything you or your family add during onboarding. The more complete the record, the more useful the answers, which is why the first conversation is partly about filling it in.
Is this a replacement for my regular care?
No. Dr.life is the front door to Life Medical's own clinicians and service lines. It is built for the space between appointments, and for getting the right kind of visit arranged quickly.
What about an emergency?
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. Dr.life is not an emergency service, and the app says so whenever a conversation looks like one.
When can I use it?
Not yet. The product is pre-launch. Early access opens soon, and the waitlist is how we decide which areas to open first.
